Every year, hundreds of refugees and migrants from Afghanistan and other countries work at the harvest of oranges in southern Greece, in the region of Argolida. The oranges produced in Argolida are sold in the national fruit market, as well as in many european markets, mainly in eastern Europe. The men who harvest the oranges are in their majority undocumented refugees, who work under very bad conditions and live on humiliating wages. At the same time they are not recognised by the greek state, which refuses to grant them the right to seek asylum.
